Vlasta Delimar: "I'm 70 years old" The Dignity of Ageing Vlasta Delimar returns to the Rigo Gallery to mark her seventieth birthday with the performance “The Dignity of Aging”. This performance continues the exceptional thirty-year relationship between the artist and the Rigo Gallery, which began in 1996 with the exhibition “I Am 40”, followed by performances in 2006 with “I Have 50” and in 2016 with “I Have 60”. Each of these meetings took place on July 31, on Vlasta Delimar’s birthday. In this unique performative continuity, each new decade brings an uncompromising reflection on the artist’s relationship to aging, with her body acting as an archive of time and a powerful medium of public speech. The performance at the Rigo Gallery is realized through a site-specific installation. The space lined with white tulle establishes a permeable scenography between the artist’s seventy-year-old body, the specific Baroque architecture of the gallery and the visitors. During the evening, the artist will invite individuals from the audience, as well as passers-by from the street, to join her and take photos with her. The duration of the performance is not predetermined. The performance lasts as long as there is interest in interacting with Vlasta Delimar.
